Don't worry if you haven't seen prep star Elena Ivaldi competing much this season. Ivaldi is a senior at Del Oro High School in Loomis, California, but has opted to forgo this year's folkstyle season.

She is currently training with her personal freestyle coach to prepare for the World Team Trials and other opportunities.

As of right now, Ivaldi will take classes as soon as possible at a local community college (junior college is free in California). She will eventually move into the STEM field (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) and work toward that major by completing her general education classes.

The California star is currently ranked #7 in the national pound-for-pound high school rankings and #1 at 117 pounds. Her 2022 season included a U17 World team spot at 53 kilograms, a California state championship at 121 pounds, and a win at Who's Number One. Ivaldi also placed third at 16U Nationals at 117 pounds in 2021.

She is currently training for the Klippan Lady Open in Sweden and will shift her focus to Women's Nationals in Spokane, Washington, on April 14-16 upon her return. So, as of right now, Ivaldi will forgo college competition in favor of her international wrestling goals.
