The Iowa Wesleyan women's freestyle program just added an important piece to its line-up as the team makes a push for an NAIA Championship next season. Janida Garcia, ranked #25 in the girls' high school pound-for-pound ranking and #4 at 144, will attend Iowa Wesleyan this fall.

Garcia made the announcement on the March 7, 2023, edition of The Bader Show.

"I feel like Iowa Wesleyan had the best foundation for me," Garcia said. "The teachers really support the students. I have my teammate, (2022 NAIA champion Adaugo Nwachukwu) and I already know she'll push me because we trained together in California. I'll have good training partners so I felt like it was the best fit for me."

Garcia is from Lathrop, California, and finished third at the 2021 Junior Nationals last year and third at the 2022 U20 Nationals. She is a 2020 USA Wrestling Preseason National champion and a 2022 Recruiting Showcase champion. Garcia is a senior at Discovery High School in Colorado after attending Central Catholic High School in California.
