5 Things You Should Know

1. Presbyterian is the first Division I college to add women’s wrestling, while D2 King is consistently among the top NCAA teams in the country. The Tornado has placed in the top four at both national tournaments since NAIA and NCAA hosted separate events beginning in 2020.

2. King placed fourth at the NWCA National Duals and Presbyterian finished seventh. 

3. Paige Wehrmeister — Presbyterian’s best wrestler — is out for the season with an injury. 

4. The 143-pound showdown between Maddie Kubicki and Yasmine Oliveria is the match to watch. Kubicki finished 15th at the 2023 U20 World Championships at 65 kilograms. 

5. King hosts the Tornado Open on Sunday, January 14 while Presbyterian travels to Kentucky for a dual with Campbellsville (NAIA).
