Day One Freestyle Finals Set
The day one mini tournament has come to a close and set up some sweet finals in the best 2 out of 3 portion of the 2013 World Team Trials.
60 kg- Reece Humphrey vs Jimmy Kennedy
Jimmy Kenndey won the mini tournament with wins over Logan Stieber and Nick Simmons in 2 tough matches. Side note: 2012 Olympic Bronze Medalist Coleman Scott defaulted out of the tournament due to a round 1 injury.
74 kg- Jordan Burroughs vs Kyle Dake
Kyle Dake had to go through 3 monsters to get his chance at Olympic Champion Jordan Burroughs. Dake started his day with a win over Trent Paulson. In the semis he had yet another matchup with the Magic Man David Taylor in which he cam out victorious. In the min tournament finals, Dake took out Andrew Howe in a match that went almost 12 minutes.
96 kg- JD Bergman vs Chris Pendelton
Chris Pendelton looked immpresive through his mini tournament performance. Pendelton has been putting points up on bunches and has yet to see a full 6 minutes. His 3 wins were over Scott Schiller, Micah Burak and Dustin Kilgore.
