Let's try this again.

In the finals of FILA Cadets last May, we got a dream match-up between two of America's truly great underclassmen.

For four minutes Daton Fix (Sand Springs, OK), trying to find angles and Nick Suriano (Bergen Catholic, NJ) with his typical physicality, couldn't score on each other. When the clock hit triple zeros, Fix walked away with a 1-1 criteria win with both points coming on shot clock violations.

The win gave Fix both the #1 spot in the rankings and a trip to Cadet Worlds.

He'd later drop a match to Skyler Petry, allowing Suriano to regain #1 status.

At Who's #1 October 18th, we'll do this again. And with unlimited overtime, there will be a clear winner.

Nick Suriano came right out of the gates as a Freshman, beating Spencer Lee for the Super 32 title at 106 before earning Beast (over this year's Fargo Champ, Austin Assad) and State (over Kyle Bierdumpfel) titles. He would go on to a perfect and dominant regular season as a Sophomore again reaching Super 32 finals, winning Beast of the East, and another State title at 113.

Entering just his Sophomore season, Daton Fix has already established himself as one of the premier talents in the country. Before his Freshmen year he reached the finals of FILA Cadets before going on to win double titles in Fargo: Greco at 106lbs and Freestyle at 113. 

In his first high school season, Fix won a state title with a perfect 33-0 record. A USAW Folk National title followed before winning FILA's in May.
