Top 5 Moments From Final Day Of Fargo
That's all folk.

Another Fargo in the books. It was a hell of a great tournament where the top guys in the country laid it all on the line for days. On the final day of competition, we got the greatest moments of the weekend. It was highly entertaining and we can't wait to see what's in store next for some of the best up and coming stars.

Here are the top 5 moments from our final day in the Fargodome.

The Team Race Was “Fixed”

Daton Fix was a late entry at 120-pounds for the Junior Freestyle tournament and his impact was felt tremendously. First of all, the #1-ranked Oklahoma kid took on #2-Jack Mueller in a highly anticipated bout in the finals. And Fix showed up when the spotlight was on teching Mueller in the first period. Second, with his win in the finals, he single-handedly won the team title for Team Oklahoma. Fix contributed a total of eight points as they edged second place Ohio by seven points.

The Rivalry Continues
Everyone was anxious to see the rivalry between Mitch McKee and Kaid Brock continue in the finals at 132-pounds. However, we got it a bit earlier than that. And even though we got to see it and it was highly entertaining, the match that stole the show was when McKee had a Greco finals rematch with Taylor LaMont in the finals. The two have met plenty of times and have exchanged wins, and this time it was LaMont turn to put another notch in his belt with a seriously dominant 15-5 tech fall. After the win he said “he took away my Greco title, so I wanted to take it from him in Freestyle.”

Breske Blanks Montalvo
Beau Breske definitely took the loss to Kamal Bey pretty hard. And since he couldn’t return the favor in Freestyle, he decided to take it out on fellow Illinois wrestler Xavier Montalvo. When the two met in the finals at 170, it was all Breske. He pushed the pace, dictated the bout and controlled thing until the scoreboard read 10-0. It was an incredibly impressive victory over Montalvo, who is a very formidable opponent with plenty of titles in his trophy case. But in this day it was all about Breske.

Can’t Win If You Don’t Score
72-0. That’s the combined point margin for Jo Jo Smith as he claimed the 160-pound title. Smith when unscored upon as he won his first stop sign that he capped off with a 10-0 win over Minnesota’s Lucas Jeske in the finals. Not only was he incredibly stingy in his title run, but it earned him the OW Award as well.

Green Makes The World Team…Again
After all the rumors and arbitration, James Green settled the score once and for all by defeating Nick Marable two matches to none in the best-of-three series. It was clear that Green had a game plan and was ready for Marable. He was in complete control during both bouts and proved that he is “the guy” at 70kg. The highlight of the series was Green’s ability to fight off a takedown while Marable tried to break him down before floating his hips and picking up a pair of exposure points on the gut wrench attempt. All in all, Green did his homework, came prepared and cemented himself in the World Team spot at 70kg.
