It's called Who's #1 for a reason. You don't just fall into being one of the top two-ranked guys in the country. That comes with patience, hard work, and accolades. How impressive are the numbers? Take a look for yourself.
State Titles
The measuring stick for high school wrestlers remains a state title (or a national prep title for the private school kids on the east coast). All told, athletes who have wrestled in Who's #1 have won 145 state or national prep titles. That includes six-time state champion Mark Hall, five-time state champion Fox Baldwin, and nine other four-time state champs. Overall, 83 percent of WNO alumni have won multiple state or prep titles.

Fargo Stop Signs
Winning a state title is hard; winning a Fargo national title is an incredible feat. Wrestlers to come through WNO have accumulated 68 of them. That includes both cadet and junior, either Greco-Roman or Freestyle. Beau Breske and Mitch McKee lead the way with five stop signs, followed by a handful with four each: Nick Reenan, Roman Bravo-Young, Taylor LaMont, and Sammy Colbray. More than half of those to grace the green and black in the Snakepit have been on the top podium in a Fargo bracket.

World Teams
Many times, the No. 1 ranking gets determined in the Akron finals. This is because the goal nowadays is to make a world team and win a UWW Cadet or Junior title. WNO alums have racked up 37 appearances at age level world championships. While the majority of them have come in freestyle, Taylor LaMont actually has the most under his belt, as he made three straight Cadet Greco teams before making this year's Junior Greco team and winning a bronze medal in France.

FloNats, Ironman, Beast, Super 32
These are the big four folkstyle tournaments in America, and WNO wrestlers have a bunch of brackets proving they won these, too. They have 20 belts from Super 32, 16 titles each at FloNationals and Beast of the East, and 14 golds from Ironman. Who's #1 gives wrestles the opportunity to cement their top ranking, but they prove throughout the year that they deserve to be in this match in the first place.
