Top 7 Rankings Movers Of Ironman

As usual there were a number of guys who showed up in a big way at Ironman this weekend, while others took some losses and saw their stock go down a bit.

With a fresh set of ranking now out, let’s take a look at the guys who made the biggest jumps this week.

106: Logan Agin, Lancaster (Ohio)

Agin took a loss in the round of 16 and won six straight matches on the backside to place third. His trek back powers him from unranked to No. 11.

Note: Jacob Moon moved from unranked to No. 12.

113: Trevor Mastrogiovanni, Blair (NJ)

Look no further than the champion and FloWrestler of the Week, Trevor Mastrogiovanni. Since filling in for teammate Michael Colaicco, who took home the title at 120 to make a jump of his own, Mastrogiovanni has been utterly impressive.

He picked up right where he left off last season after claiming the National Prep title and goes from being unranked to No. 2.

138: JD Stickley, SPG (Ohio)

A workmanlike performance on day two is what shot Stickley up the charts. It was all about the bonus points to start his run, and then the quarterfinals, semifinals, and especially title bout showed that he’s a force as he took out Jaden Abas, who was ranked fourth at the time.

Before the tournament Stickley was just barely ranked, as he occupied the 19th spot. Now he sits at No. 4 just ahead of Abas, who’s now fifth.

138: E’lan Heard, La Salle (Ohio)

His lone loss was to eventual champion Stickley in the semis. After the loss, Heard came out on top of close battles with Colton Yapoujian and Luke Baughman, a pair of big movers at this weight as well. Like Heard, the current No. 9, Baughman and Yapoujian go from being unranked to 10th and 12th, respectively.

145: Kendall Coleman, Mount Carmel (IL)

Coleman may not have won the title, but he made significant strides at Ironman with his runner-up finish. His big comeback win over Quincy Monday in the quarters and a tough battle with Kai Bele, who was coming off a fall over Mitch Moore, to make the finals push Coleman from 18 to six.

170: Rocky Jordan, SPG (Ohio)

What can you say other than Jordan was clutch. He trailed very late in the finals and transitioned his attempt at picking up a takedown into a non-controlled fall with just four seconds left on the clock.

He also defeated Carson Kharchilava and DJ Shannon in the quarters and semis, respectively, along with pinning Emil Soehnlen in the finals. Jordan moves from No. 12 to fourth in the rankings.

182: Leo Tarantino, Blair (Ohio)

As the runner-up to AJ Ferrari, Tarantino made a jump to No. 6 after being unranked. He took Ryan Karoly, who was previously ranked third, to overtime and got the winning takedown in the semis to make the finals.

Note: Victor Marcelli, Jackson (Ohio) - HM to No. 7; Darrien Roberts, Wyoming Seminary (PA) - HM to No. 10
