Win a Cadet world title: check. Verbally commit to Penn State: check. Capture a fourth Maryland state title: check.

Aaron Brooks has been checking things off his high school wrestling bucket list left and right. And now he’s got his eye on the next achievement on his list, an elusive fourth straight NHSCA national title. Currently, just five wrestlers—Tyler Beckwith, Blake Ruolo, Ryan Millhof, BJ Clagon, and Ben Schram—have been able to accomplish the feat.

Brooks is within striking distance of adding his name to that exclusive list as he wrestles at the 2018 NHSCA High School Nationals in Virginia Beach, VA, which gets underway Friday and wraps up Sunday.

In 2015, he claimed his first title at 126 pounds over Wes Rayburn (NM). The next year he moved to 138lb where he took out New Jersey’s Cole Corrigan for title #2, then last year he defeated Pennsylvania standout Robbie Patrick in the finals at 152lb for his third top finish.

This year Brooks will be at 170lb as he looks to cap things off the same way they started.

But Brooks isn't alone. Joey Silva is also looking to make some history of his own as he tries to claim his fourth straight title, this time at 138lb.

As a freshman, he claimed the title at 113lb over Jake Silverstein from New York. A year later, he took out another New Yorker in Cadet world medalist Jacori Teemer, who will be at 152lb contending for his second straight NHSCA title. Last year, Silva took home the title at 132lb.
