Meet The Contenders: #1 Jojo Aragona vs #4 Gabe Tagg
Meet The Contenders: #1 Jojo Aragona vs #4 Gabe Tagg
#1 Jojo Aragon vs #4 Gabe Tagg is going to be a bit of a clash of styles.
This is going to be a bit of a clash of styles. Jojo Aragona works off his own pressure, while Gabe Tagg has the ability to draw a guy in when needed. And that’s the version of Tagg I think we will see at Who’s #1 and that’s simply because of the pressure that will come from Argona.
Also, remember that the winner of this match will face the winner of the match between #2 Keegen O'Toole and #3 Jaden Abas
#1 - Jojo Aragona
- 3x NJ State placer (3rd, 2nd, 3rd)
- 2x Super 32 placer (2nd & 6th)
- Verbal commit to Rutgers
Aragona battles. He’s taken some lumps to some top competitors such as PA state champ Ryan Anderson, but even in a loss he didn’t back down and showed that he’s got the ability to contend and give all he’s got. He handfights hard and likes staying on the attack. And, he has some pretty solid defense to backup that pressing and attack-first style.
Watch Aragona defeat Carson Manville:
#4 - Gabe Tagg
- 2018 Fargo FS Runner-up
- 2016 Ironman Champ
- Verbal commit to UNC
When he wants to he will come out firing looking to get an early lead. Tagg, who will spend his senior season at the OTC in the EPA program, has good feet that rarely stop moving whether he is on the attack or playing catch with some counter attacks. Like I said above, he knows when to turn up the heat and when to sit back and allow his opponent to make some mistakes for him to capitalize on. Unfortunately for Tagg, his opponent does make too many of those. However, I expect us to see the guy who allows things to come to him a bit more and then uses his speed to counter attack.
