Watch Kent State at Penn State Live On Flo

Sunday Nov. 11 | 2PM Eastern

Just two days after hosting the Frenzy at the Field House, the Golden Flashes head to Happy Valley with a potentially monster matchup waiting for them. So, why should you be watching?

1) #1 Bo Nickal vs #2 Kyle Conel (Hopefully)

It's not very often that we get to see #1 vs #2 in the second weekend of a season, and the circumstances make this one even more juicy: the highest returning All-American at 197 against the two-time national champ bumping up from 184. Full disclosure though, Conel's nursing an injury.

2) Roman Bravo-Young's Collegiate Debut

This young man was the definition of a blue chipper. He never lost a match in Fargo, made a Cadet world team, and wrestled at Who's #1 three separate times. Before even stepping foot on Penn State's campus, he made the U23 Trials finals. RBY finished #12 on the 2018 Big Board and is the first high profile true freshman confirmed to not be redshirting.

3) National Champs And All-Americans Trying To One Up Each Other

Remember last year, when Mark Hall would pin a guy and then Bo Nickal would go out and pin his guy even faster? That happened in four separate duals last season. Jason Nolf and Nickal are tied for the national leaders in returning pins with 16 each. Right behind them is Mark Hall with 13, and Shakur Rasheed with 11. If there are any falls on Sunday, whose will be the fastest?

4) Jarod Verkleeren and Anthony Cassar Get The First Dual

As we mentioned in the Media Day article, head coach Cael Sanderson announced his 10 starters for this first dual. That includes Jarod Verkleeren and Anthony Cassar getting a slight jump in the roster battles at 149 and 285, respectively. Brady Berge is on his descent plan and won't be competing until next weekend's Keystone Classic, while #2 Nick Nevills is still coming off surgery, though he is also slated to wrestle at the tournament next weekend.

5) What Will Jason Nolf Come Up With This Year?

The dirty little secret about this sport is that there's basically no new wrestling moves. Every thing we see now is built upon the past several decades of evolution, from stances to shooting to top work to scrambling. It's a sport built upon body movements, and there's only so many ways the human body can go. That being said, Nolf is better than just about anyone about pushing the boundaries of the sport, from the roll to the Winn Dixie. We'll be glued to our seats waiting to see what Nolf's next signature move will be.
