A College Fan's Guide To 2019 NHSCA Nationals
A college fan's guide to what recruits they need to be watching at this weekend's NHSCA grade level nationals in Virginia Beach.
College wrestling is over, and although that is sad, by no means does that mean that there is no more wrestling to watch for college wrestling fans. NHSCA Nationals in Virginia Beach is the college wrestling fans first opportunity to look at some of the new recruits coming there way, and what they have to look forward too when these high school studs come to town.

Coach Kolat and the Campbell coaching staff have done a great job recruiting new Camels to the squad and that will represented well in Virginia Beach. Campbell has the biggest showing at the tournament with 5 recruits, Including three-time Tennessee state champ Trent Knight.
After The Campbell Camels, there are a few teams with three recruits wrestling in Virginia Beach this weekend, most notably Lehigh, and NC State. Lehigh has a trio of Seniors with Connor McGonagle, Malyke Hines, and Edmond Ruth. The three of these seniors have 9 state titles between them and have been seen all over podiums at National tournaments like Fargo and Super 32.
NC State on the other hand has to wait a year longer to see some of these recruits in action for the Wolfpack. They have three junior recruits competing in Virginia Beach this weekend. Donald Cates, a North Carolina State champ, Kai Bele, one of the many talented wrestlers coming out of Coach Palazzo’s Lake Highland Prep, and Ryan Jack, a familiar name to Wolfpack fans who surely remember Ryan’s older brother Kevin, who was a three time all-american for NC State. Wrestling in the senior division is Christian Knop of Alabama, another Wolfpack commit.
