The #14 ranked recruit on the Class of 2021 Big Board was reportedly being pursued by Cornell (where Tate's brother Cam will wrestle), and Oklahoma State, among several other suitors.
Picklo, who trains at the Oklahoma RTC, was a top target for Sooner head coach Lou Roselli. This is the first commitment for Oklahoma from the class of 2021. However, the Sooners do have a blue-chip recruit from the class of 2020 headed to Norman in Greyden Penner, a recently crowned Super 32 champ.
Tate was a two-time Fargo All-American this past summer and will be a building block for the Sooner program in the future. He lost a nailbiter to Gavin Nelson in the 170-pound Greco-Roman finals and placed third in the freestyle tournament, also at 170-pounds.
