There weren't many matches this week, so we had fewer upsets than we've become accustomed to. The upsets we did have were massive and change what we know about a couple of key weights.

Here are the top four upsets of the weekend:
#2 DeSanto Upsets #1 Gross
Austin DeSanto may have been ranked #2 headed into Sunday night's dual against Wisconsin, but he was still considered to be a major underdog against NCAA champion Seth Gross, who many considered to be a front-runner for the Hodge.
Gross' scrambling ability and top game seemed like a skill set that would make an upset very difficult for DeSanto to pull off. That didn't stop DeSanto from beating Gross in an impressively controlling manner.
DeSanto is the new #1 at 133, which makes an eventual rematch with Gross incredibly enticing. IA Wrestle caught DeSanto's press conference interview here:

Freshman #12 Cassioppi For Real Against #3 Trent Hillger
Iowa fans have been excited for Tony Cassioppi to toe the line against the nation's top competition as many believe him to be a threat to make the podium in March. After he beat Iowa State's #15 Gannon Gremmel last week, anticipation grew for this week's match against #3 Trent Hillger.
Cassioppi did not disappoint, securing a first-period takedown and then maintaining control of Hillger throughout the bout. That win will propel Cassioppi up the heavyweight rankings closer to where Iowa fans have wanted him all along.

Consistent #13 Kaleb Romero Bests #11 Brandon Womack
Ohio State's Kaleb Romero entered the season in what appeared to be a roster battle with Rocky Jordan. Romero has made a strong case for himself as the Buckeyes' starter, winning his first eight matches.
Romero had one of his biggest opportunities of the year on Sunday against Cornell's #11 Brandon Womack. The match was a back-and-forth affair, but Romero came out on top. Romero is surging at the right time as he is expected to enter a deep Cliff Keen Las Vegas field this weekend.
Ricky Padilla Notches Top-10 Win Over Austin Mathews
Fresno State fans waited for over two hours for their dual meet against Northern Colorado to begin after the scheduled official failed to show up. When the dual finally started, the first match was a top-10 upset at 165 pounds.
Ricky Padilla had not started in any Fresno State duals this season until Saturday night, but he made the most of his opportunity with a major decision over #10 Austin Matthews. That win started Fresno State of on the right foot in a dual that they would go on to win 25-15.
