The PIAA Individual State Championships aren’t for another two weeks, and most regional tournaments still have to go down, but we’re too excited to wait until next week to start talking about it. Here are some of the top juniors to keep an eye on in Hershey.
2020 PIAA Individual State Wrestling Championship
Brett Ungar, 113 (Notre Dame)
Ungar is 39-2. His two losses are to P4P #14 Stevo Poulin and the next guy on this list, Gary Steen. You can watch that match HERE. However, Ungar later avenged that loss at the team state championships. You can watch that match HERE.
Gary Steen, 113 (Reynolds)
2018 State champ, 2019 State 3rd
Pitt commit
The Ungar loss is Steen’s only loss this season. He won Ironman and Powerade this year. Yeah, he’s good.
Trey Kibe, 170 (Mifflin County)
2019 State champ
Penn State commit
Trey Kibe will be one headlining the incredibly loaded AAA 170 lbs. bracket.
Jagger Condomitti, 145 (Northampton)
2019 State 4th
Nebraska commit
Jagger Condomitti will be looking to keep the momentum rolling in Hershey as he is fresh off of a huge sudden victory revenge win over #4 nationally Cole Handlovic at Districts this past weekend.
Wyatt Henson, 138 (Waynesburg)
2018 State 5th
Iowa commit
The son of Sammy Henson, Wyatt is a bull just like his dad. He wrestles a hard and fast style and will fight right in at Iowa.
Lenny Pinto, 170 (Stroudsburg)
2019 State 3rd
Nebraska commit
Lenny Pinto has steadily progressed so far throughout his high school career. He put that progression on display to the nation when he won Fargo this past offseason.
Nate Schon, 220 (Selinsgrove)
2019 state champion
Returning state champ and 32-0 with 27 pins on the season going into Regionals.
Carter Dibert, 113 (Franklin Regional)
2019 State champion
Arizona State commit
Carter Dibert has spent most of the season up at 120, but now he’s back down at 113 trying to go back-to-back. His two losses this season came to Dylan Chappell at 120 and Gary Steen, who will be in AA.
Alejandro Herrera-Rondon, 132 (Seneca Valley)
2018 and 2019 State champ
Oklahoma commit
Alejandro Herrera was able to avenge two losses (Carter Dibert and Kurtis Phipps) in his postseason run as a freshman. Can he do it again and beat Kenny Herrmann and Gabe Willochell to become a three-timer?
Nathan Higley, 145 (Sullivan County)
2018 State 6th
2019 state qualifier
Nathan Higley might be a little under the radar for people outside of PA, but he’s 33-0 this season and just beat Junior Big Board #45 and #12 nationally at 145 Avery Bassett 8-4 at Districts.
Honorable Mention
Avery Bassett, 145 (Midd West)

Luca Augustine, 160 (Waynesburg)
Joey Milano, 182 (Spring-Ford)
Isaiah Vance, 285 (Hempfield Area)
