Kibe committed to Penn State earlier this year but decided to re-open his recruiting process after the PIAA Championships this season. Kibe was a Pennsylvania state champ in 2019 and was fourth in a bracket this year that included five wrestlers ranked in the top 12 in the country.
In April, Kibe's school list included NC State, Stanford, and Lehigh in addition to Virginia Tech, of course. Kibe could fit nicely into the Hokie lineup at 174 and is an important addition to the Virginia Tech roster.
He'll join a number of Pennsylvania recruits who will be heading to Blacksburg from the class of 2020 including heavyweight phenom Hunter Catka, middleweight Sammy Hillegas, and Clayton Ulrey who Kibe wrestled at Super 32 last year.
