In a battle of #1-ranked competitors, Hattendorf, a 2019 Cadet World silver medalist, is set to take on 2019 Cadet World bronze medalist Kylie Welker at 145 lbs.

Skylar Hattendorf School List (in alphabetical order)

  • Life

  • King

  • McKendree

  • Menlo

  • Simon Fraser

No surprises here on Hattendorf’s list. These five schools are all established as some of the top programs in women’s wrestling.

Life University in Marietta, Georgia, finished in second place at last season’s WCWA Championships. Hattendorf would slide in perfectly at either 143 or 155 for the Eagles. Current starters Erica Sotelo and Destinee Rivera will be juniors this season.

Watch Hattendorf advance to the Cadet World finals below.

McKendree, who won the first-ever NCWWC Championships last season, will be looking to reload now that 155-pounder Alexandria Glaude has concluded her college career. If Hattendorf doesn’t grow into 155 pounds, she will most likely have to wrestle off Alara Boyd for the 143-pound spot.

Finishing in second place at the first-ever NCWWC Championships last season was Simon Fraser. Hattendorf could be the new rock for SFU’s middleweights since Alyvia Fiske and Ana Godinez Gonz will be gone.

If Skylar can stay at 143 lbs for her college career she would perfectly replace Ashlynn Ortega for King University. Ortega took third at Senior Nationals this past season and would be a great training partner for Ortega if she chooses to stick around the program after graduating.

Lastly, Menlo College. The Oaks won the inaugural NAIA Women’s National Invitational Title in 2019 while outsourcing second place by 76 points. Similar to Simon Frasier, both of Menlo’s starters last season at 143 and 155 were seniors.

No matter the lineup fit, if you are a fan of any of these five teams, you want Sklar Hattendorf on your roster.
