Kerkvliet was the expected start after finishing last season with a 9-0 record while redshirting. Seth Nevills has gotten all three dual meet starts for the Nittany Lions this season, and it appears the sophomore will be the Penn State anchor at Big Tens in March.
Cael also answered other questions about the lineup and this covid shortened season.
With regards to 149, Cael stated that the starting job has not yet been secured. The Nittany Lions have started three different wrestlers in their three duals at this weight: Jarod Verkleeren, Luke Gardner, and Terrell Barraclough.
Sanderson also stated that the team is looking to add dual meet competitions against Michigan and Michigan State to their weekend schedule.
