Probable line-ups

125 pounds: NR Ryan Chauvin (Army) vs. NR Baylor Shunk (Penn State)

1st period: Shunk takes a 2-0 lead with one minute remaining in the period off of a double leg. Shunk does a good job of breaking Chauvin down and nearly gets a turn at the end of the period but he takes a 2-0 lead into the second period. 

2nd period: Shunk escapes at the begging of the period then snags another takedown off of the counter to lead 5-0. Chauvin gets on the board with an escape to cut the lead to 5-1. 

3rd period: Riding time is secured with 30 seconds left in the third period as Shunk takes a 7-4 lead and wins his Rec Hall debut with an 8-4 win with riding time.

133 pounds: NR Dominic Carone (Army) #1 Roman Bravo-Young (Penn State)

1st: Bravo-Young plays take-em-down-let-em-up for three straight takedowns in the first 90 seconds for a 6-3 lead. RBY scores a pair of takedowns in the second half of the period and rides out the first period for a 10-4 lead. 

2nd: RBY takes neutral to and scores 45 seconds into the period then keeps scoring after that by putting on a takedown clinic with offensive takedowns and counters. RBY scores a circus takedown at the end of the period for a 20-8 lead. 

3rd: Carone chooses down and gets an escape but RBY goes back to work with another takedown clinic. RBY jumps over Carrone's back for a takedown to end the match with a 26-11 technical fall in 6:35. Bravo-Young scores 13 takedowns during the match.

141 pounds: NR Cory Shie (Army) vs. NR Brandon Meredith (Penn State)

1st: Headlock attempt by Shie but Meredith blocks it and nearly counters out but Shie holds tight and scores for a 2-0 lead after the takedown. Shie rides out the remainder of the period for a 2-0 lead heading into the second. 

2nd: Shie takes bottom but Meredith is able to erase riding time halfway through the period. Meredith rides out the second period so the score remains 2-0. 

3rd: Meredith takes neutral and Shie shoots in on a single to start the period but a stalemate is called. Meredith ties the match off of a head to the outside single but Shie picks up an escape to take a 3-2 lead. Shie in deep on a shot late in the match and gets a takedown with a second remaining for a 5-2 win.

149 pounds: #15 PJ Ogunsanya (Army) vs. #22 Beau Bartlett (Penn State)

1st: Scoreless opening period with little action. 

2nd: Bartlett chooses bottom and takes a 1-0 lead after an escape within 10 seconds. Stall warning against Bartlett at the end of the period with no takedowns from either wrestler. Ogunsanya leads, 1-0.

3rd: Ogunsanya starts on bottom but Ogunsanya gets out within 50 seconds, which ties the score 1-1. A few nice exchanges at the end of the period but no takedowns.

Sudden Victory: Bartlett scores off a single 1:25 into sudden victory for the win.

157 pounds: HM Markus Hartman (Army) vs. NR Terrell Barraclough (Penn State)

1st: Lots of hand fighting but no takedowns. 

2nd: Barraclough chooses bottom to start the period and Hartman gets a cradle for four near-fall points to take a 4-0 lead and two minutes of riding time advantage. 

3rd: Hartman selects top to start the period. Barraclaugh works hard to earn an escape but Hartman gets four more points off of a tilt to take an 8-0 lead. Barraclaugh works hard for a reversal at the end of the period but Hartman picks up a 9-0 major decision with riding time.

165 pounds: NR Christian Hunt vs. HM Creighton Edsell (Penn State)

1st: Fielden gets the initial takedown but Edsell escapes immediately. Fielden takes a 2-1 lead into the second. 

2nd: Edsell chooses bottom and escapes immediately to tie the match, 2-2. 

3rd: Hunt chooses neutral. Edsell in on high crotch on the right size and eventually scores out the back door after over a minute in the position. Edsell gives up the escape and fends off a late takedown attempt for a 4-3 win.

Penn State 14, Army 7

174 pounds: UR Clayton Fielden (Army) vs. #1 Carter Starocci (Penn State)

1st: Starocci takes a 2-0 lead after securing the opening takedown with 2:05 left to wrestle. Fielden gets an escape to cut the lead in half but Starocci scores on a double for a 4-1 lead. Starocci pushes Fielden away with one minute to go but Starocci scores on a double 30 seconds later. Starocci looks for a fall and gets four near-fall points at the end of the period. Starocci leads 10-2.

2nd: Fielden starts the period down and gets an escape but Starocci circles and gets another takedown to extend his lead to 12-3. 

3rd: Starocci chooses bottom and escapes in 15 seconds. Starocci drives through on a takedown to take a 15-4 lead after letting Fielden escape. Another takedown and escape make it 17-5 then Starocci gets a takedown and four near fall at the end of the period for a 23-5 technical fall.

Penn State 19, Army 7

184 pounds: HM Brad Laughlin (Army) vs. # 1 Aaron Brooks (Penn State)

1st: Brooks is relentless and finally scores the initial takedown with 1:18 remaining in the period and intentionally releases Laughlin for a 2-1 lead. Brooks takes a 4-1 lead on a single-leg takedown near the end of the period. 

2nd: Brooks starts on bottom, escapes, and gets a takedown for a 7-1 lead. A Laughlin escape and Brooks's fourth takedown extends his let to 9-2. Laughlin is out for the escape as Brooks goes back to work from neutral. Brooks scores another takedown for an 11-3 lead. 

3rd: Laughlin starts down and escapes to make the score 11-4 but Brooks scores a takedown lets him go for a 13-5 lead. Another takedown makes in 15-5 but the escapes make in 15-6. Stall warning and a takedown makes in 18-6 then it's 18-7 after the escape. Another takedown makes it 21-7 after riding time is tabulated.

197 pounds: #22 JT Brown (Army) #2 Max Dean (Penn State)

1st: Dean snaps down Brown hard for a takedown within 39 seconds of the period. Brown escapes to make it 2-1 at the midway point. 

2nd: Dean takes bottom and escapes with 1:31 remaining in the period and gets a takedown a few seconds later for a 5-1 advantage. Dean puts legs in and scores four near-fall points to take a 9-1 lead.

3rd: Brown takes bottom and Dean gets four more points off a bow and arrow for a 13-1 lead. He throws Brown to his back late in the period for a 17-1 technical fall.

285 pounds: UR Brandon Phillips (Army) #5 Greg Kerkvliet (Penn State)

1st: Kerkvliet scores on a single right off the whistle for a 2-1 lead after an escape by Phillips. Kerkvliet drives through on a double near the edge of the mat for a 4-1 lead. Kerkvliet tries for a fall at the end of the period but can't turn Phillips over. 

2nd: Kerkvliet chooses bottom and gets the escape followed by an escape for an 8-1 lead. Phillips escapes but Kerkvliet eventually drops down on a double to take a 10-2 lead. 

3rd: Phillips chooses bottom and gets in escape in 38 seconds and Kerkvliet scores another takedown for a 13-3 lead. Kerkvliet wins 14-3 after riding time.

Penn State 32, Army 7
