It's finally here, the long-awaited 10th annual Who's Number One! We're proud to be featuring a full women's card for the second consecutive year. 

We're also proud to be live blogging all the action as it happens from inside Cliff Keen Arena in Ann Arbor, Michigan!

Okay, now that I've done my pre-show I'm ready to start blogging!

106: #2 Clare Booe and #3 Gigi Bragg

1st period: Booe, a Fargo champ from Florida, taking on Bragg, who splits time training in both Wisconsin and Minnesota. And the 10th Who's #1 is underway! Bragg taking ground in neutral, then dives under, she's got a leg but its stalemated. Another low shot from Bragg, Booe close to the go behind but again we get a stalemate. 90 seconds in we'll see an activity clock soon if there's no score. And indeed, another stalemate and now Booe goes on the clock. Another shot for Bragg and this time she finishes for two. And another point as the new rule for the activity clock is it keeps running until the wrestler on it scores, so 3-0. Toward the edge of the mat and Booe fires off a headlock hip toss and gets four points and the lead. Great way to end the period for Booe, she leads 4-3. 

2nd period: Bragg has been able to get to Booe's legs though so a comeback is not out of the question. Gigi on another shot but Booe defends again, still 4-3. Another low level shot and Booe just barely defends. Booe pressures Bragg to the boundary, Bragg dives into legs but it ends in another stalemate. Repeat the same sequence. Gigi's coach telling her to get an angle and it sounds like good advice to me. On a single leg again is Bragg but this time Booe breaks the lock, spins and collects two more to make it 6-3. Bragg running out of time. Another downblock go behind and Booe makes it 8-3, and that'll do it. Clare Booe takes the first bout of the day!

152: #2 Jasmine Robinson vs #3 Mishell Rebisch

1st period: Jasmine in her second WNO, Rebisch a first-timer. Rebisch has some local fans her sporting her as she is a Michigan native. Robinson gets the first points with a nice double, Robinson's bread and butter. Shot from Rebish but Robinson ghost legs and they're still in neutral. Rebisch takes a shot and Robinson with a lightning quick reattack but Rebisch with an equally impressive defense. Another double for Robinson and a BIG finish for four. That was as good as advertised from Robinson! It'll be 6-0 at the break.

2nd period: And another big double for Robinson who takes Rebisch to her back again and that will do it! Or does it? Challenge from Rebisch's corner. It is successful, just two. So it's 8-0 and we get more wrestling. Rebisch trying to climb out of deep hole. Rebisch goes in for a shot, defended, now going upper body, but Robinson shoves her out of bounds. Rebisch needs injury time, her left knee requires attention. Rebisch is back up to her feet and is going to tough it out. Down 9-0 with a little over a minute to go. Rebisch not going down without a fight. Rebisch controlling ties and inside trips Robinson to the mat. Jasmine's back being out of bounds when she fell may have saved her! Great fight from Rebisch. Now she needs to do it again and score another point. Less than 20 left. Rebisch looking for upper body, and as time expires Jasmine hits a beautiful back arch. No points but it was an impressive display nonetheless. The crowd shows their appreciation with a thunderous round of applause. Good stuff from Jasmine and and Mishell!

138: #1 Sarah Henckel vs Zaynah McBryde

1st period: McBryde immediately gets a front headlock. Henckel returns the favor. Henckel gets the first passivity warning. Duck under attempt from McBryde but Henckel defends. Henckel now on the activity clock with 1:21 on the board. Slideby attempt from Henckel doesn't land. McBryde collects the activity clock point. Still no scores with 19 seconds left and McBryde now picks up a passivity warning. And the period ends 1-0. 

2nd period: Henckel hits another slideby and this time she's able to collapse McBryde's defenses and scores two to take the lead, 2-1. Beautiful inside trip right off the whistle but Henckel throws in a desperate whizzer to hold McBryde at bay. Great defense to get the stalemate by Henckel there. And a perfectly timed snap allows McBryde to regain the lead, 3-2 with a 1:45 to go. Henckel returns the favor, finding an opening and double McBryde to the mat. 4-3 Henckel back in the lead! Under a minute, the intensity is picking up on the mat. McBryde in on a leg, stalemate with just 13 seconds on the clock. Inside trip for McBryde, another whizzer for Henckel, and McBryde limp arms in time. As the clock ticked over to zero! Incredible win! Amazing bout, the 2ond period being worth the price of admission alone! Incredible fight from Henckel but it was McBryde who prevailed. Emotional ending for both wrestlers. 

122: #1 Cadence Diduch vs #2 Everest Leydecker

1st period: Diduch in on the first shot but Leydecker spins behind, after an intense tricep control defense from Diduch, to take the 2-0 lead. Leydecker is going to do it again and she takes the 4-0 lead with a minute to go in the first. Diduch fires back with a double that earns her a step out point. A scramble in the final seconds and Diduch gets another takedown in the waning seconds of the period. 

2nd period: Leydecker still leading 4-3. Another shot by Diduch, Leydecker sprawls and gets a go behind after nearly a minute of scrambling. 6-3 with just over 2 minutes left in the match. Drag attempt from Diduch misses. Leydecker with the luxury of not having to create the action, she waits for another shot by Diduch and once again counters for two more, she leads 8-3 now with less than a minute remaining. Diduch doubles Leydecker and this one lands cleanly, and Leydecker gets penalized for fleeing the hold as they were on the edge of the mat. They restart in par terre, Diduch with less than 20 seconds to get two turns. She gets one but that's not enough. Leydecker, who was unranked going into Fargo, continues her winning ways! She'll take it in a thrilling 8-8 battle. 

144: #1 Lizzie Shunn vs #2 Sydney Perry

1st period: Some history between these two. Shunn beat Perry at the world team trials but differed an injury just before the Championships, so Perry went to Rome after winning a Fargo title and finished fifth. Now they wrestle with the #1 ranking on the line. Perry goes on the offense first, scoring a step out early. A minute of flurrying and Shunn ends up with a takedown and the lead, 2-1. Single leg shot by Perry but its defended. Takes another shot but Shunn stuffs it. Head and arm at the boundary and Shunn will collect four and is close to a fall! Wow, Perry fights off her back. That was tight but some grit from Perry to get to the break. 

2nd period: Shunn leading 6-1 but Perry has no intention of giving up on this match. A clean shot and Perry cuts the lead down to three with a nice takedown. Another flurry at the boundary and Shunn nearly ahs another headlock but Perry keeps her balance and collects a step out point to make it 6-4. Another shot and another takedown to tie the score. Shunn leads on criteria though, 6-6. Stamina playing a factor now. Perry blast doubles Shunn to her back! It's 10-6! Now Shunn fires back to earn a step out. 10-7. But Perry's not done. A takedown and two turns and she'll win 16-7! Perry showed unbelievable heart there, as she avenged her team trials losses in impressive fashion. 

117: #1 Elena Ivaldi vs #2 Persaeus Gomez

1st period: Another WTT rematch, as Ivaldi was the victor at Women's Nationals last May. We've seen one result avenged in the last match, will it be two in a row? Ivaldi shuts down that trend in a hurry, as she overhooks and hips Gomez right to her back, collecting the fall in under a minute! 

Unfortunately Gomez is staying down. Hopefully it's just a stinger but she's holding her neck. Gomez is back on her feet and looks like she'll be okay, thankfully. 

127: #1 Shelby Moore vs #2 Skylar Little Soldier

1st period: Moore is a 2022 U17 world teamer, Little Solider is a 2022 Fargo champ. Little Solider gets the first passivity warning. Little Soldier was about to get dinged again but Moore shot in a swing single and fought through a whizzer to collect the first two points of the bout. Another single leg and Moore comes up with it, runs the pike and collects two more to lead 4-0. Shot by Little Solider but Moore sprawls and defends and that takes us to the end of the period.

2nd period: Moore stays on her offense, fakes one way, goes the other and looks like a trip finish this time. Moore won't stop attacking, gets another takedown, then one more to make it five straight takedowns and clean 10-0 scoresheet. Tech fall victory for Shelby Moore!

94: #3 Erica Pastoriza vs Morgan Turner

1st period: Erica is a two-time U17 world medalist, which makes for a heck of a high school debut for the young Morgan Turner. But this is no ordinary high school freshman. Turner gets a double off the whistle then slaps in an arm bar and rolls Pastoriza over for two more. They go back to par terre as Pastoriza also gets dinged for fleeing the hold. Turner grabs a leg and looks for a bow and arrow but no scores and we go back to neutral. Another scramble and a savvy body whizzer by Pastoriza rolls Turner over for two. Turner covers for one to make it 6-2, Morgan in the lead. Another scramble and Pastoriza tries to roll thru again but Turner counters and scores the exposure points. It's 8-2 ith 30 seconds to go in the first. Turner shoots in again converts to make it 10-2. Turns with another arm bar but looks like the wrist got caught in a potentially dangerous position and the move is stopped. Pastoriza needs injury time on that shoulder, looked painful but Pastoriza is okay. She finishes the period and we go to the break with a 10-2 lead for Turner. And unfortunately we won't get a second period. Pastoriza's shoulder won't let continue and it'll be an injury default. Disappointing end for both wrestlers. Still an impressive performance for Morgan Turner. We'll be seeing her again real soon I'm sure. 

132: #1 Janida Garcia vs #2 Valerie Hamilton

1st period: Fargo champ Garcia walks out in her signature cowboy hat, U17 world silver medalist Hamilton shows off her dance moves as she grooves her way to the center of the mat. Garcia counters a Hamilton shot, gets behind and was thinking suplex but Hamilton bellies out. Garcia leads 2-0. Now with a minute left in the period. Good action as Hamilton gets a single leg and a step out to cut the lead in half. Fireman's attempt by Garcia doesn't land. Hamilton sweep single but Garcia defends. 

2nd period: Very high pace to start the second period. Garcia creates an opening and drives Hamilton to the mat for a 4-1 lead. Hamilton continues to fire off shots but Garcia keeps her off her legs. We'll see if gas tanks will make a difference as we round the final 90 seconds of the match. Hamilton working to create something but Garcia hits a throwby and gets behind to collect two more. 6-1 in short time. Hamilton hits a lat drop but time is up. Janida Garcia is now a two-time Who's Number One winner! Impressive win over a U17 world silver!

100: #1 Gabriella Gomez vs #2 Valarie Solorio

1st period: Our penultimate bout! Another world team trials rematch, as Gomez won at trials and went on to earn a silver medal in Rome. And we get early fireworks! Solorio gets Gomez's back and hits back arching suplex for five! Full rainbow! The move of the day so far! So with a five point lead Solorio gets Gomez's back again but this time Gomez wrestles out of danger. Gomez gets on the board with a step out to make it 5-1. Solorio answers with a step out of her own and its 6-1. Nice double from Gomez and she finishes cleanly to shave another two points off that leads. It's 6-3 Solorio with less than a minute to go in the period. Gomez is getting to Solorio's legs but Val is figuring out the timing better. And as I type that Gabriella gets a single leg and finishes for two at the buzzer. 6-5 at the break, Gomez fighting her way back into the match. 

2nd period: Unless Gomez hits a five of her own, Val is going to own criteria advantage. But that's not going to matter because Gomez comes out of the break guns blazing. She gets a takedown to take the lead, then counters a lat drop attempt from Val for two more, then locks up a cradle and gets the pin! Gomez didn't let the five point move phase her as took over the match and collected the dub!

112: #1 Alex Szkotnicki vs #2 Ava Ward

1st period: Szkotnicki won in the 2020 Super 32 finals, Ward got revenge in the 2021 finals of the same tournament. Who takes the rubber match? Ward comes out as the more aggressive wrestler, getting two early. Make that a four, as Szkotnicki landed in danger. Szkotnicki looking for her offense, Ward does a good job shutting her down in a front head lock. Ward keeps the pressure on as action slows down in the latter half of the first period. We go to the break, still 4-0 Ward. 

2nd period: Szkotnicki gets to Ward's legs but heavy hips from Ava stops that attack. Ward back to a front headlock, Szkotnicki does a good job circling back to the center and avoids giving up a step out. Snap down go behind from Ward and she'll extend her lead to 6-0. Less than a minute to go, Szkotnicki having trouble getting through the head-hands defense of Ward. And that's how it ends, 6-0 shut out for Ava Ward! Look for her name to sit atop the rankings when they're next published! 

And that does it for Ann Arbor! An incredible display of wrestling from the young women in 11 action-packed bouts.
