The University of Iowa kicks off its season with a home dual against California Baptist at 1 p.m. Central on Sunday, November 13. Follow along as the Lancers take on the Hawkeyes inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
This is the first dual of the season for Iowa while California Baptist enters with a 1-2 record. Led by head coach Derek Moore, the Lancers fell to Iowa State 39-9 yesterday and will have another tough test against Tom Brands and the Hawkeyes.

First period: Siebrecht tries for a throw and gets into a scramble and comes out the back door with a single and a takedown with 1:43 left in the first. Siebrecht gets four points on a tilt with 45 seconds to go for a 6-0 lead. Stall warning against Mora.
Second period: Siebrecht takes down, Mora is called for stalling and Siebrecht gets a point for a 7-0 lead. Reversal by Siebrecht with 1:33 to go for a 9-0 lead. Mora escapes with 45 seconds left and finally gets on the board. Siebrecht gets a takedown and goes directly into a cradle at the end of the period and gets a fall with 1 second left.

165 pounds: Patrick Kennedy (Iowa) tech. fall Mateo de la Pena (CBU), 20-5
First period: Kennedy scores on a single with 1:55 remaining for a 2-0 lead and gives up an escape a few seconds later. Kennedy adds another with 1:07 to go on another single. An escape makes it 4-2. Kennedy scores on a go-behind with 20 seconds left and keeps him down for a 6-2 lead at the end of the period.
Second period: Kennedy takes down to start the period and gets out in 15 seconds for a 7-2 lead. Kennedy scores another takedown a few seconds later for a 9-2 lead. An escape makes it 9-3 but another takedown by Kennedy makes it 11-3 at the break.
Third period: de la Pena escapes to start the third but Kennedy still leads 13-4 after a takedown. An escape makes it 13-5 but Kennedy scores another takedown for a 15-5 lead. Kennedy gets four swipes to add four more points for a 19-5 lead. A riding time point gives Kennedy a 20-5 tech.

First period: Rhodes scores on a low shot in the first 30 seconds for a 2-0 lead. Rojas escapes, cutting the lead in half. A high-crotch by Rhodes leads to a scramble but he eventually scores and takes a 4-1 lead with a minute to go. Rhodes keeps that lead into the break.
Second period: Rhodes escapes for a 5-1 lead. Rhodes fires off a double for a 7-1 lead with 1:06 to go. Escape Rowe with one minute remaining. Rhodes leads 7-2 at the break.
Third period: Rowe takes down and escapes in 15 seconds but Rhodes still leads, 7-3. Low single by Rhodes after Rowe gets hit with stalling, which gives Rhodes an 8-3 lead and then a 10-3 lead after. takedown. An escape and another takedown make it 13-4 with riding time.

First period: Assad hits a low shot at the start and scores to take a 2-0 lead with 2:37 remaining. Assad lets him go for a 2-1 lead with 1:45 remaining. Assad goes out of bounds and then shoots in bounds as the action circles near the edge. Assad finally picks up the takedown for a 4-1 lead at the end of the period.
Second period: Assad chooses bottom and escapes in 16 seconds for a 5-1 lead. Assad hits a low show with 1:05 to go for a 7-1 lead followed by an escape for Acciardi. Assad leads 7-2 at the break and has exactly one minute of riding time.
Third period: Acciardi takes bottom and escapes in 25 seconds but Assad still leads, 7-3. Another low shot by Assad makes ith 9-3 with one minute remaining. An escape makes it 9-4 by another low shot by Assad results in a lengthy scramble but no scoring. Assad wins 11-4 with riding time.

First period: Warner comes out on fire and scores immediately and gives Sobas an escape then pancakes him to his back for a fall in 38 seconds.

285 pounds: Tony Cassioppi (Iowa) FALL Chris Island (CBU), 2:13
First period: Cassioppi hits a double at the 15-second mark for a 2-0 lead. Cassioppi is committed to the ride and eventually bars an arm and gets the fall with 47 left.

125 pounds: Elijah Griffin (CBU) dec. Aidan Harris (Iowa), 9-4
First period: Griffin scores a takedown for the first offensive points by CBU. A penalty against Griffin makes it 2-1 but Griffin is riding tough on top. Griffin gets a tilt near the edge for two near fall points and a 4-1 lead and takes that lead into the break.
Second period: Harris is down to start the second period and Griffin stays committed to the ride. Harris called for stalling with 1:05 left as Griffin continues to ride but doesn't score any near fall but kept his 4-1 lead.
Third period: Griffin starts on the bottom and gets a reversal with 1:37 to go for a 6-1 lead. An escape by Harris makes it 6-2 but Griffin scores another takedown for an 8-2 lead. Misconduct on Griffin so the score is now 8-3. An escape at the end of the period and a riding time point for Griffin make it 9-4.

133 pounds: Brody Teske dec. Hunter Leake (CBU), 6-4
First period: Teske hits a low shot halfway through the period that leads to a lengthy exchange until a stalemate is called with 33 seconds left. Teske nearly has a cradle locked up as time expires. No scoring in the first.
Second period: Leake starts on the bottom to start the period and escapes in 49 seconds for a 1-0 lead. Teske gets on the board with a takedown but Leake hits his head during the exchange so medical personnel is evaluating the situation. No injury time. Concussion evaluation. Action resumes with 49 seconds remaining in the period and Teske rides out.
Third period: Action begins in the neutral position and Teske takes advantage with a takedown and a 4-1 lead. Locked hands by Teske gives Leake a point, which cuts the lead in half. A reversal by Leake makes it 4-4 but Teske has riding time locked. An intentional escape by Leake makes the score 5-4 and neither scores. Teske wins 6-4 with riding time.

141 pounds: Drew Bennett (Iowa) major dec. Edison Alinas (CBU), 16-5
First period: Bennett gets on the board with a takedown in the first 15 seconds. An escape by Aliinas cuts the lead in half. Bennett scores on a low shot for a 4-1 lead halfway through the period. Alinas escapes with one minute left to cut the lead in half again. A high crotch by Alinas at the end of the period is countered by Bennett. Bennett leads, 6-2 at the break but officials are reviewing the call. The call stands.
Second period: Alinas start on the bottom and escapes to cut the lead in half yet again. Bennett scores another takedown for an 8-3 lead. Bennett earns a stalling point against Alinas as he rides out the remainder of the period.
Third period: Bennett escapes in 10 seconds and gets another takedown for an 11-3 lead. An escape by Alinas with a minute to go makes it 11-4 but another takedown and escape and takedown makes it 15-5. Bennett rides out the remainder of the period and wins 16-5 with riding time.

First period: Murin takedown to a cradle for two and two but Hallmark reverses and Hallmark gets six out of the exchange for a 6-4 lead. Murin escapes and gets a takedown for a 7-6 lead at the break.
Second period: Murin starts down and escapes and gets a takedown for a 10-6 lead with 1:27 to go. Murin intentionally releases Hallmark and gets another takedown for a 12-7 lead. A Hallmark escape makes it 12-8 but another takedown to a turn gives Murin an 18-8 lead at the break.
Third period: An escape by Hallmark makes it 18-9. Stall warning on Hallmark with 1:10 to go and Murin scores a few seconds later and goes into a Turk and four nearfall for a 24-9 tech.
