FloWrestling recently released its Atlantic Coast Conference rankings and a quick glance shows how tight the team race will be at the ACC Championships on March 5 in Raleigh. It appears to be a two-team sprint to the finish with North Carolina State and Virginia Tech vying for the crown.

The 2022 Southeast Open will kick off the college wrestling season on November 5 in Salem, Virginia. There will be a number of top division 1 teams in attendance and numerous storylines to follow as the tournament unfolds. Head coach: Coleman Scott (7th season)

There are lots of familiar faces in this weight with Yianni Diakomihalis leading the way. The Cornell senior won a pair of NCAA titles at 141 pounds (2018-19) before moving up to 149 for the 2022 campaign where he won his third championship.

The bracket at 149 lbs has a clear favorite in Yianni Diakomihalis, but it also has the kind of volatility fans love to see in March. Several wrestlers outside the top 8 seeds could finish, and in fact, have finished on the podium which makes for a chaotic forecast.

NCAA Championship Tournament seeds don't always align with expectations. Outside of the coaches' poll, however, there is essentially no human element is involved. A seed is determined by a national qualifier's body of work over the course of the season, as well as that of his competitors, and then a formula which is applied to everyone.

Nearly two-thirds of the starters in the ACC will be headed to Detroit. In other words, this conference has an extremely high concentration of talent, and every match will matter.
