Roman Bravo Young (RBY) grew up in a tough neighborhood in South Tucson, AZ. His father was never in his life and his mother had her issues with substance abuse and addiction. Most kids that come from that area and that type of upbringing don't find much success in anything.

Roman Bravo-Young Did 8th Grade Twice, Didn't Go To School For A Whole Year

Roman Bravo-Young was a great young wrestler but he was a little bit small for 106 after he finished 8th grade. His grandfather raised and trained Roman and he felt it was best if RBY did 8th grade a second time in order to put on some size. During his second 8th grade year, RBY didn't go to school. He just played video games into the morning hours and then slept and trained all day. He repeated that cycle for an entire year.
