Two-time national qualifier and returning SoCon champion Taye Ghadiali closed out his 22-3 regular season with wins over Josh Evans, Jonathan Chesser, and Jacob Sartorio to head into the postseason as the favorite to win a second straight SoCon title. Chesser defeated Logan Andrew, Jake Fernicola, and Evans to move all the way up to the #2 ranking in the SoCon at 285 pounds. Sartorio took over the starting spot for Appalachian State and moved up to the #3 ranking in the weight after defeating Abraham Preston, Morvens Saint Jean, and Andrew over the last few weeks.
