133-pounds during the 2022-23 season will be incredible! The story lines are endless…Roman Bravo-Young coming back to attempt to win his third-straight NCAA title. Daton Fix looking to win his first NCAA title after finishing runner-up THREE TIMES. Will anyone get in the way of another rematch between Fix and RBY in the NCAA finals?

Lucky for fans but unfortunately for the field at 133 lbs, both finalists from this past year are returning. Roman Bravo-Young and Daton Fix have separated themselves from the field, so is there anyone else that could immerge as a title contender at the second to lightest weight class?

I can’t guarantee anything about the 2021 NCAA Championships except that no one will be taking it for granted after what happened last year. Let’s all count our blessings that we get to watch three days of excellent college wrestling.

Once again, the EIWA Championships will be live on FloWrestling. The EIWA has been awarded 44 automatic qualifying spots for the NCAA Championships, third only to the Big Ten and Big 12. Here are some of the biggest storylines for the first five weights at EIWAs.

The depth of the 133-pound field at the Big Ten Championships might make that the most anticipated weight class of the entire conference weekend. The bracket will include the top four 133-pounders in the country: Seth Gross, Austin DeSanto, Roman Bravo-Young, and Sebastian Rivera.

Sebastian Rivera has been one of the most fascinating 133-pounders of the season. The pre-season debates about which weight he would wrestle, his Puerto Rican trials story, his controversial match with Seth Gross, and his post-Midlands recovery from injury have all been important topics of conversation.

Sammy Alvarez has recently announced himself as one of the top 133-pounders in the country. Jordan Decatur just notched his first ranked win since having his redshirt pulled. The two will meet on Friday night in a Covelli Center dual.

On December 26, our very own Kyle Bratke wrote a compelling argument for why Seth Gross would win the 133-pound bracket in a Midlands field that will include Sebastian Rivera and Seth Gross. While Gross is clearly capable of doing just that, I this weight class playing out a bit differently, and I see Austin DeSanto on top of the podium at Midlands.
