The United States entered the final day of women’s freestyle competition at the Cadet World Championships with a stack of prizes — three golds, a bronze and a team title trophy — well within their grasp.

The extra workouts day after day are all part of the process that enables Bo Bassett to wrestle with relentless pressure and a breakneck pace.

The United States punctuated a near-perfect opening day at the Cadet World Championships by sweeping its four semifinal bouts Monday in Budapest.

The Cadet World Championships begin Monday in Sofia, Bulgaria. Freestyle starts the action off on Monday with five USA wrestlers taking the mats. Earlier today, the opening draws and brackets were released.

USA Wrestling's level system is working. They refined the process heading into this year and it makes for better, more balanced brackets. The result is a quieter first session. But not everyone was immune from upsets. We even saw a defending champ go down in Round 1.

The Cadet World Team Trials opened up in Akron with Fargo Runner-Up Caleb Rathjen beating former #1-Shayne Van Ness. It was a beacon letting everyone know that all bets were off and that the competition level here was off the charts. 

They've reached the semifinal round in Akron where the Cadets are in pursuit of making the World Freestyle team. As expected, you could throw predictions out the window. Upsets and matches between highly regarded wrestlers occurred early and often.

Day I of Freestyle is in the books at FloNationals and the semi's for both the Cadet and Junior divisions are set.

Greco Champs were crowned on the first day of FloNationals. Champs and placers will receive separation levels for the Cadet World Team Trials in Akron and also points in the race to make the Pan Am Team.

2019 marks the 10 year anniversary of FloNationals but the tournament will be getting a massive facelift.

Winning Fargo is always a monumental task, but some weights can be a little trickier to navigate than others. When Cadet men's freestyle kicks off this year's event on Saturday morning at the Fargodome, 126 pounds will look like the most difficult division to win.
