The women’s field at Final X is loaded with credentials. Is it the best Final X field ever? Take a look at the numbers and decide for yourself. This year's line-up includes five of six 202One Olympians and six of 10 members of the 2021 World team. Six-time World champion Adeline Gray, who is pregnant with twins, is the only member of the Olympic team not competing.

There will be a total of 36 wrestlers competing in Wells Fargo Arena this weekend who have already signed to compete at the next level. While Div I leads the way with 28 wrestlers, and Iowa leads all teams with 10 recruits, all five levels of college wrestling will be represented.

Lori Ayres is starting a new video podcast on FloWrestling called “Everything Women’s Wrestling.” Ayres is the co-founder of Division I women’s wrestling, an organization working to educate, grow, and support women who want to wrestle at the Division I level.

It was an eventful week with Iowa naming a head women’s wrestling coach and the Missouri Valley Open taking place on November 19-20. We have all of that and more in this edition of Women’s Wrestling Weekly.

It’s fun to look back now that the Women’s Collegiate Wrestling Association (WCWA) and its end-of-year national tournament will likely disband. This was THE women’s national collegiate wrestling championship that counted for years since it combined schools from every division.
