The Bill Farrell Memorial Invitational has extra importance this year. One spot at the Olympic Team Trials is up for grabs. The highest medaling American that has not already qualified will earn a berth in the trials. If no American is in the top 3 at a weight class a berth will not be earned. This qualifying spot is awarded in each weight class in all three styles.

The wrestling season is officially in full swing, and this weekend we are offering you FIVE live events to choose from kicking off Friday morning and running all the way through Sunday.
It feels like the World Championships just got over and we are already gearing back up for more international wrestling. The stakes are raised this year as the tournament will serve as a qualifier for the Olympic Trials next April in Iowa City. The highest placing American, that is not already qualified, will earn a spot in the Olympic Team Trials. This is true for all three styles.

After a year out on Long Island it is back in Manhattan at the New York Athletic Club. The venue speaks for itself with its rich history. Anytime wrestling is showcased in New York City it is a big deal. The importance of the tournament is significantly increased domestically with the Olympic Team Trials coming in April. The highest placing American, that is not already qualified, will earn a spot in the Olympic Team Trials. This is true for all three styles.

For over 50 years, the New York Athletic Club of New York City, USA, has hosted the annual NYAC Holiday International Wrestling Championships, now known as the Bill Farrell International Open. The event is named in honor of the late Bill Farrell, former NYAC Wrestling Chairman and 1972 Olympic coach.
