Class of 2025
Much like Iowa’s 2024 class, the 2025 group could is stacked tight at the top and the order could get shaken up before the start of next season.
Carter Pearson is arguably the most credentialed wrestler in the class on the national stage. He notched a freestyle win last week against U17 World champion Domenic Munaretto at the 16U National Duals, where Pearson went 7-0. Additionally, he placed third at the 2022 U17 World Team Trials and seventh last year in the 16U division in Fargo. He was ranked as high as #2 nationally at 106 pounds this season before getting upset in the state semifinals.
Jace Hedeman holds down the second spot at the moment after winning Class 2A state titles as a freshman and sophomore.
T.J. Koester won a 3A state title as a freshman and placed third at 120 this past season as a sophomore.
Bas Diaz placed third as a freshman in a Class 3A 145-pound bracket that included four state champions. He added to that count in February when he captured a state title.
Kyler Knaack posted a 40-2 record this season en route to a Class 1A title at 152. He followed that up in April by placing fourth in the 71-kilogram bracket at the U17 World Team Trials.
Jacob Helgeson went 43-0 this season on his way to a 3A title at 152 as the follow-up to a 40-4 freshman season.
Jabari Hinson and Maximus Riggins placed second and third, respectively, in Class 3A at 126. Hinson won an overtime decision when they squared off in the state semifinals. Riggins is a Fargo 16U freestyle All-American.
Jayden Rinken compiled a 100-4 record during his first two high school seasons, placing third in 1A at 106 as a freshman and capturing a title there this season.
Fargo 16U heavyweight All-American Cooper Martinson rounds out the top 10. He finished fourth this season in the 3A heavyweight bracket.
