Iowa High School Wrestling Mini Boards
Class of 2026
Iowa’s 2026 class is shaping up to be another strong group.
Led by one of the nation’s best freshmen — Dreshaun Ross — the class features four state champions and a host of others who were in the mix to win state titles in their rookie season at the high school level.
Ross ripped through his state tournament bracket, registering a pin, a major decision and a pair of seven-point victories on his way to becoming the first freshman in state history to win a state title at 195 or heavier. He beat another freshman — Danarii Mickel — 8-1 in the finals to complete a 44-2 season.
Ross, a 16U freestyle champ last summer and a U17 World Team Trials runner-up this spring, has also picked up several Power Five football offers.
Jake Knight edged junior Dru Ayala in a Class 3A state final battle between nationally ranked 113-pounders. Knight, who placed fourth in Fargo last summer in the 16U freestyle division, went 46-1 as a freshman.
Blake Fox checks in at #3 on the list after a 51-2 freshman season that culminated with a Class 2A title at 120. His two defeats came against two-time Class 3A finalist Blake Gioimo and two-time Illinois state champ Gylon Sims.
Alexander Pierce seized the Class 3A title at 106 pounds, defeating Fargo freestyle All-American Tyler Harper in the finals to finish 42-2.
Nolan Fellers compiled a 36-3 record and finished third in Class 3A at 138. Two of his losses came against senior multi-time state champs McKinley Robbins and Ryder Block and he avenged the other defeat.
Jaxon Miller placed fourth in 3A at 145 to cap a 40-win season. Cody Trevino compiled a 49-3 record on his way to a fourth-place finish in 3A at 126.
Jace Jaspers went 41-5 and reached the Class 2A finals at 126.
Linden Phetxoumphone compiled a 40-3 record on his way to a third-place finish in 2A at 106.
